Jessie Cooper
Founder & CEO
Jessie Cooper founded IABA in the summer of 2012 with a desire to help children. This desire grew into a dream to help all individuals with autism and developmental disabilities through the science of applied behavior analysis. Jessie entered this field through her work at The Ohio State University, focused in Early Childhood Education, which later led to her Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. When she started IABA, she couldn’t find a company both rooted in our science and committed to clients beyond high profit margins. Jessie chose to build IABA to create a community of like-minded behavior analysts who shared her vision.
Jessie’s professional interest is to promote equality for all individuals against systems not built for them. Jessie has a unique talent to create spaces where our humanity is placed above profit margins and self-righteousness. Jessie uses the art of psychology, science, and math to build these spaces and to speak out for social justice. The passion and commitment of the employees of IABA who stay rooted to our science and shared humanity is Jessie’s favorite part of her job. For over a decade, the same leaders have sat around the table with Jessie, crafting the mission and vision our families and staff enjoy today.
In her free time, Jessie enjoys a quiet life on her small farm in Ohio with her boys. Simple pleasures like cooking from farm to table, feeding her horses apples in the fall, and snuggling with her children are among Jessie’s favorite things. You’re most likely to find her and her children tucked away from the world and in a pile of books when she’s not creating at IABA.
