School-Based ABA (Colorado)

IABA is dedicated to providing services to our clients in the environments where they have the greatest need. At our Colorado location IABA is able to provide direct services in the classroom setting using our client’s insurance funding. In the school setting IABA works alongside our client’s teachers to promote adaptive behavior following their ABA treatment plan. RBTs function as 1:1 aides under the supervision of their BCBA to provide support for our client’s symptoms of autism that create barriers in the classroom setting

For the majority of learners, this means promoting social interactions with peers, functional communication training, following school routines, and adapting behavior intervention plans for the school setting.

Our team of professionals works to create the best programs, customized to each client’s unique skills during school-based sessions. This is done through the collaboration with their school and parent-centered goals as well as individualized ABA assessments. In the school setting IABA most often uses:

  • Naturalistic Instruction
  • Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT)
  • Behavior Reduction Plans

An individualized plan is created for each client that addresses specific needs and ensures the client is regularly advancing and acquiring new skills. We also work to ensure that the skills learned at school are transferred over to their home life as well as the community setting. IABA professionals also monitor progress in their client’s IEP and support teachers with data collection for both adaptive and maladaptive behaviors.
