Lead Billing Specialist

Nicole Cox has been a valued member of the IABA family for over seven years, serving as Lead Billing Specialist. A lifelong Illinois resident, Nicole grew up in Woodridge and later moved to Plainfield, where she now resides in the south suburbs. She earned her Billing and Coding Certification from Everest College.

Nicole’s interest in healthcare started early—though she quickly realized that while she was fascinated by the field, she preferred to work behind the scenes rather than in clinical settings. That curiosity led her to the world of billing, where her talent for problem-solving and attention to detail shine.

She especially enjoys researching codes, troubleshooting claims, and finding solutions to complex billing questions. But more than anything, Nicole values the relationships she’s built with her colleagues. Working alongside great people who share her commitment to IABA’s mission is what she loves most about her job.

When she’s not at work, Nicole enjoys taking long walks with her family and dog, often accompanied by an audiobook or podcast.
